Whilst I was living in Australia for 6 months, as quiet as I was on the blog, I was still out and about heading to gigs and festivals. I didn't get to write about them at the time but I did however make notes, so over the next few months I'll be posting reviews of ALL of the shows and festivals that I attended whilst I was out there. Hopefully as I'm out in Germany for the next 6 months I'll be able to keep the pace going with gig and festival reviews because there is a whole HEAP to look forward to in 2016...

In case you haven't heard the news, the band formerly known as Dog Is Dead is now going under the name D.I.D and it would seem that after their brilliant debut All Our Favourite Stories, they finally have some new (and pretty darn good) music. Have a listen to the new single here...

I already love this track. Initially I was a little surprised at the grittier sounding (Black Keys-esque) guitars at the beginning of the song but they sound great. To be honest, everything about this song sounds great to me. Not a particularly 'gigantic' song or grand return so to speak, but it's a quality tune and it feels very nice to have them back. I'm looking forward to a brilliant follow up album.

After seeing Superfood perform here at Notting Hill Arts Club last month it has really cemented my liking for them as a band and actually managed to get me excited to hear their debut album. Originally I wasn't too keen on their recorded material but seeing it live has made me hear it I guess a different way. One track that especially stood out for me after seeing them is now their latest single...

SUPERFOOD - Mood Bomb



I love the bass on this track - so simple yet so funky. In fact, everything about this song is fantastic. I'd like to think that if I ever played all the parts on a song myself it would sound like this song. Every instrument is doing exactly what I want it to. This will be a great debut, and of course I'm hoping for more performances like this. This single will be played quite a lot on BBC Radio 1 over the coming weeks so it should be enough to tide fans over until the release of their debut.

It's been a very long while since I heard anything from these London boys! After the triumph of their sophomore album Bones they did a bunch of touring and appearances and finally, it's time for some new music!
