YouTube Videos Of The Week

There have been a few cool videos that I've watched over the past couple of days, that I thought I'd share.

First up is the most recent... These New Puritans have released a music video for their new single "Fragment Two" earlier today. Check it out...

These New Puritans took quite a risk with their quite avant-pop sounding record this year after their past two albums Beat Pyramid and Hidden. This recent album Field Of Reeds has received quite mixed reviews and opinions. I am actually yet to listen to the full record but personally, I love this song. It has so many different levels and aspects to it, yet it still manages to come together and sound great/fresh. Interesting video too - desolate landscape concept. I'm sure it's been done before but regardless, they've done it well. Looks like I'm going to have to invest in the album very soon.

Next up, always nice to hear something new from Wayward Daughter. They just posted a new video of an original song that they wrote in 10 minutes, on a boat, and it is bangin'. Have a listen below...

For those wondering, this interesting new instrument is apparently called a "Bouzouki" and yes, it is very cool. Lydia's vocals, as always, seamless. The change of scenery is nice too - interesting to see them out of the comfort of their own bedrooms and actually mic-ed up... on a boat! By far one of the best female duos around right now. GET THESE TWO A RECORD DEAL ALREADY PLEASE?!

PS: Trophy Wife played their last ever gig together as a band in London tonight and I had to miss it because of exams. What. Is. Life?
