Well, Arctic Monkeys have released quite a few new tracks from their upcoming record recently. We've already heard "Do I Wanna Know?", "Mad Sounds" and "2013" and now they've gone and given us this gem...
Arctic Monkeys - Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High
It's a bit different from the regular Arctic sound, as is most of the material that they've released of late but personally I love it! It's easy to hear some of the influences that they've spoken about in interviews leading up to the release of the record and they just make it all sound so mellow, whilst still making the listener hyped - a quality that Arctic Monkeys have time and time again exhibited with tracks such as "R U Mine?" and even "Fluorescent Adolescent".
A close friend of mine described the track after she'd listened to it and I couldn't have put it better myself, she said "It's VERY hip-hop, but it gives the track a kind of swaggering arrogance that Turner pulls off not only with a flourish but a disparaging nod of the head that makes me kind of love it". I don't think there's anything else left to say about this track to be honest, my friend said it all. I am extremely stoked for them to release AM on the 9th of September.
