JANELLE MONAE - Heroes
The opening track to the record, and the song is actually written by David Bowie and Brian Eno. A light-hearted sounding song and it keeps the uplifting and love-encouraging message that all of Janelle's songs seem to possess. Great video too - although it would have been nice to actually see Janelle in it, the director did a fantastic job and I feel that actually just having the kids tell the story, made the message a little bit more poignant. Lovely song and I look forward to checking out the rest of the album when it comes out on the 9th of June.
Also, I recently had the chance to go and see Janelle Monáe live, so expect a gig review up of that very soon!
