Music News...

There was quite a bit of news in the music industry last week that you can read up on here if you missed any of it. However, this week there's even more news! This business does not slow down for one minute...

PRINCE NEW SINGLE "GROOVY POTENTIAL"
Prince forever upholding his reputation for greatness. The clue is in the title really - this track is super groovy and funky. Starts off with a nice Neo-Soul laden intro and just erupts into a downright groovy track. It's so good to have Prince back - hopefully some headline tours soon?! Until then, listen to the track here.

TONIGHT ALIVE NEW MUSIC VIDEO "LONELY GIRL"
This is Tonight Alive's second single from their upcoming album "The Other Side" and so far I have to say that I am ridiculously impressed. The huge improvement from their debut record "What Are You So Scared Of?" is outstanding. I love this track and I love this video. Jenna's mannerisms in the video remind me a little of Gwen Stefani at times. Have a watch of it here.

KINGS OF LEON NEW MUSIC VIDEO "SUPERSOAKER"
Just in time for their big headline slot at this year's V Festival this weekend, they've have released this new music video for their single "Supersoaker". It's so good to have KOL back in my life - it feels like ages since I've heard anything from them. This song is a bit more summery/indie for them but I still really like it and the video is cool too - check it out here. The album "Mechanical Bull" drops on the 23rd of September.

KIM DEAL NEW SINGLE "ARE YOU MINE?"
You'd have to be pretty brave/sure of yourself to release a song under the same name as Arctic Monkeys "R U Mine?" and who better than one of Pixies founding members Kim Deal. Now that Kim has gone solo, she's gone and released this track - have a listen here.

WOLF ALICE ANNOUNCE NEW EP RELEASE
Wolf Alice are set to release their new EP entitled "Blush" on the 7th of October. This is extremely exciting! They've just released the first track from the EP called "She" which you can listen to here. If this song is anything to go by then this EP will be fantastic. Keep your eyes peeled people!

HAIM COVER SHERYL CROW
The Haim girls posted an unexpected cover earlier this week of Sheryl Crow's "Strong Enough". I really really liked this cover - it's nice to see a new band give a fresh take on an old classic. Haim really did Sheryl justice - have a listen here.

JOAN JETT AND DAVE GROHL NEW SONG "ANY WEATHER"
A couple of my favourite people in the music industry collaborating together to make one damn good song. Have a listen to the live version here with Joan Jett & The Blackhearts. Love the instrumental for this song - looking forward to the new album "Unvarnished" out on the 1st of October.

BMTH NEW MUSIC VIDEO "CAN YOU FEEL MY HEART"
I reaaalllyy like Bring Me The Horizon's new record which surprised me a little because I haven't liked much of their stuff prior. However, this is definitely an 8/10 record with an opener to match - here's the video for that opener. Quality.

YUCK NEW SINGLE "MIDDLE SEA"
I'm so glad that Yuck are releasing a new record! I really liked their debut and I feel like this could actually be even better than that. Have a listen to this latest single they've put out here. The album "Glow & Behold" is set to hit the shelves on the 30th of September.

PS: Trampolene have a new song "You Do Nothing For Me" available for free download here. Janelle Monae has revealed the album artwork to her upcoming record "The Electric Lady" and First Lady - Michelle Obama is set to release a Hip-Hop record..
